Sometimes we are brought in because a previous search failed, so time is of the essence. This was the case in a recent CEO search; over ten months had passed without success. The Search Committee evaluated five firms before selecting us. We started the search and within 30 days, presented and jointly interviewed six candidates by phone. Of these, three finalist candidates were interviewed on day 60. An offer was extended and accepted, and the successful candidate started on day 90: three months from start to finish.
