Unique opportunity for a Local 3 Project Manager with electrical construction experience gained managing high visibility commercial projects

Location: New York City (Lower Manhattan, Local 3 Jurisdiction)

    About the Position: To apply for this position, you must have gained your relevant project management experience working for a Local 3 Electrical Contractor in downtown New York City. Unfortunately, for this opening, we can not accept experience gained working as an in-house construction PM or electrician, nor even PM experience gained with a GC or a CM. The successful candidate must currently have (or very recently had) end to end project P&L accountability while working as PM (not as a foreman or a sup) for a Local 3 electrical contractor.

    Qualifications & Experience: We’re looking for the following qualifications and experience:

    • a proven track record of experience performing the following responsibilities:
      • profitably managing projects, with full P&L accountability for (electrical portion of) revenues ranging from $1-$10M(PMs) or $10-$25M (Senior PMs) and,
      • 5 to 15 years PM experience (gained working for an electrical contractor (NOT as an in-house PM or working for a GC or a CM firm)
      • experience managing both new construction and infrastructure upgrade projects, where project scope included one or more of the following industries / functions:
        • data centers, high tech (including clean rooms, pharma manufacturing)
        • healthcare / academic medical institutions (including laboratories, imaging and surgery centers)
        • financial services, new office construction and trading facilities:
        • media and broadcasting including television and radio broadcast studios and transmission systems related to high definition TV.
        • corporate infrastructure upgrades related to redundant power systems, security and fire safety installations
      • Demonstrated expertise with electronic estimating software (Accubid a plus); scheduling software (Primavera or MS Project preferred), MS office software (e.g. word and excel)
      • "hands on” experience estimating, costing and managing change orders
    • with a reputation for positive relationships with the GCs, trades, and the IBEW local 3 gained managing projects in a fast-paced, high intensity environment

    Target Profile: Successful candidate will have a stable work history, most likely gained working for one or two of the following...

    • regional electrical contractor (e.g. Adco, Armour, Eii Electric, EJ Electric, FiveStar, FreeState, Hatzel & Buehler, JP Rainey, MC Dean, Mona, NEAD, Ray Angelini, Scholes Truland, Union)
    • or on local projects for a national electrical contractors (e.g. Conti, Cupertino, Dynalectric /Emcor / Forest, Fischbach & Moore, Fisk, Helix, Inglett & Stubbs, Mass Electric, MMR Group, MYR Group, Parsons, Railworks, Rosendin, Sasco, Sachs, Scholes, Unity, Wayne Griffin)

Total compensation package is in the low hundreds, including a market competitive base salary, and significant performance-driven bonus opportunity.
