About the opportunity:  Publicly held, we are the recognized leader in our segment of the rapidly growing $80B mission critical data center space.  Virtually all mission critical data centers require a sophisticated precision air flow and cooling solution, and we intend to keep -- and grow -- our strong market position.  Accordingly, we’re looking for a client facing mechanical engineer with experience in a wide variety of data center environment, who can help clients take into account the various parameters involved (e.g. optimizing data center air flow, temperature, humidity, etc.)  
If you have a strong grounding in the evolution of data center cooling, and a good handle on the emerging options for energy-efficient mission critical data centers – e.g.  including the various engineering design alternatives for data center air flow, please read on.  You would thrive in an environment in which you are providing comprehensive technical sales support to end users, architects, engineers, contractors, and distributors on the optimum data center cooling product offerings for both new and retrofit environments.   You have the leadership skills to guide these market players on implementing best practices for maximizing the solutions energy efficiency and cost effectiveness.  If this sounds like you, let us know how you stack up against these qualifications and the experience requirements below. 

Requirements: The successful candidates will have the following minimum required qualifications and experience:   Four year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, and minimum of five years professional experience including:

·         A solid knowledge base of cooling technologies (CRAC/CRAH, Raised Floors, Chillers, etc.) and strategies used to condition a mission critical datacenter environment.

·         A baseline understanding of server technology and critical infrastructure hardware, e.g. UPS, PDU, etc.

·         Autocad and 3D software modeling experience, e.g. FEA, CFD, etc.

·         Experience auditing the energy efficiency of cooling data center environments, as well as practical tools and experience optimizing energy efficiency is critically important

·         Experience using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software for airflow and temperature modeling

·         Experience in taking physical measurements before and after optimizing the enviornment.

·         Experience completing electrical infrastructure surveys and taking field measurements

·         Baseline understanding of the use of FLIR cameras for temperature analysis  

·         Ability to travel (approximately 20%)

·         Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, verbal and written skills

·         Excellent organization skills, including ability to handle multiple tasks effectively

·         Proficient in use of Autocad and Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Preferred: Affiliations: ASHRAE, AFCOM, 7 x 24 Exchange, Uptime Institute, USGBC, etc.
